Nothing says romance like a long walk along the beach. The expansive shores of West Sands offer the perfect place to take in a glowing sunset to the enchanting sound of crashing waves and views of St.Andrews in the distance. You’ll also pass the world famous Old Course along the two mile stretch of sand; one for the golf lovers out there!

Whilst you’re there, pop along to St.Andrews favourite new food truck; The Cheesy Toast Shack. Located on East Sands Beach and further along at Kingsbarns Beach, you can pick up a delicious hot snack and drink to take away. Their mac & cheese toastie has got everyone in Fife talking!

The Falls of Bruar, Blair Atholl

Heading up north, you and your loved one can enjoy the charming surrounds of The Falls of Bruar just outside of Blair Atholl. As one of Perthshire’s beloved beauty spots, the collective of waterfalls can be reached by following the designated walking routes as signposted. It’s a pleasant climb from the lower falls up, however you will encounter some steep parts of the path along the way but it’s all worth it for lovely views at the top. What a lovely date idea if you are planning a trip to Scotland.

Also, whilst you're in the Perthshire area, you can book a staycation with us to stay at our Kirklandbank Farm holiday cottage.

Did you know?

It’s this beauty spot that inspired Scottish poet Robert Burns to write ‘The Humble Petition of Bruar Water.’ The poem was a plea to the 4th Duke of Atholl to flourish the barren rocky falls with trees and greenery.

One for our friends over the bridge. Take a romantic stroll up to the iconic extinct volcano best known as Arthur’s Seat. From the summit you can enjoy glorious panoramic views of Scotland’s capital city Edinburgh and right across the River Forth to the Kingdom of Fife. Pack a couple of travel cups with piping hot tea and a couple of biscuits and head up early evening to catch the glowing sunset. It's the perfect spot for a romantic picnic.

If you’d prefer a walk that’s a little less steep and rocky then you also take a walk around Holyrood Park at lower ground surrounding Arthur’s Seat.

Pollok Country Park, Glasgow

Step outside of Glasgow’s city streets for a romantic stroll around the quaint gardens and woodland of Pollok Country Park. There are outdoor play areas, bike trails and more. The perfect chilled out addition to include on a romantic getaway to the city of Glasgow.

Keep an eye out for the world famous Burrell Collection museum which is located in the centre of the park.
