The Hamish Henderson cocktail. A celebration of the life and work of Hamish Henderson takes inspiration from one of his most famous songs ‘Freedom Come-All-Ye’.
This song was described by Hamish Henderson as "expressing my hopes for Scotland, and for the survival of humanity on this beleaguered planet” and these sentiments are entirely relevant today. We use ingredients mentioned in this great song and drawn from the area around Blairgowrie (Hamish’s town of birth) for this special cocktail.
This cocktail was made to celebrate the unveiling of Sandy Moffat's 'Scotland's Voices' painting at a special exhibition in Blairgowrie Town Hall for the Hamish Matters festival in 2019.
In a cocktail shaker add some ice cubes and pour in the Birch and Elderflower Wild Scottish Spirit, cherry liqueur (we use our cherry and birch liqueur), lime juice, rosehip syrup and apple juice. Shake vigorously, strain and serve over ice. Garnish with borage flowers.
